The Coach House

A cosy, well appointed retreat for two, we have ample outside space to admire the stunning Lakeland scenery.

  • Relax in the living room in front of the log burner

  • Large garden with two separate courtyards with different views of Eskdale.

  • Secluded village location, close to a small shop.

  • Walks from the doorstep and close to the miniature steam railway stations.

  • Eskdale is a wonderfully unspoilt valley that offers fabulous food, real ales glorious scenery and a host of opportunities for walking and cycling for all abilities.

  • Satellite TV and WiFi if you don’t fancy heading out on those rainy days.

The Wildlife

Eskdale is home to plenty of wild life, in particular we are lucky to have red squirrels thriving in the local area. They can be spotted in the woodland just behind the cottage.

There is always plenty of wildlife to see from the large garden and the secluded courtyard seating areas give a peaceful space to sit and take in the views.

The local area

Eskdale is an unspoilt area of the Lake District and the journey to reach the valley is rewarded by its beauty.

With great walks from the front door, there is much to explore. Our dogs love it here as they have space in the garden to play.

Eskdale provides a great base to explore too, the neighbouring valley is Wasdale, home to Englands highest mountain - Scafell Pike.

The l’all ratty train has two stations in easy walking distance and can take you further up the valley or down to the coastal town of Ravenglass.

Drigg Beach is a short drive away as is Muncaster Castle, there’s plenty of local attractions, places to eat and drink and a local activity centre for those seeking adventure!
